In 2014, the first application for commutation of Spoon Jackson's Life without parole sentence was submitted to the previous Governor, Edmund G. Brown of California. Unfortunately, Governor Brown did not grant Spoon’s petition for commutation. Now, a new application is being prepared for California’s current governor, Gavin Newsom, with the help of four lawyers working pro bono, who are donating their time because they believe in Spoon and feel strongly he deserves a second chance! Please share this petition with your friends once more, hopefully it will be the last time! It will soon be sent to the Governor.
